Background
The album was recorded at Oxide Studios, Sunset Sound, and Henson Studios, and self-produced by Anderson with David Kahne, Mudrock, and Parthenon Huxley. Anderson chose the title from a 1960s boyscout handbook listing activities underwater, including undressing. The opening track "Hurt Myself" features Paul McCartney on bass and backing vocals, Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums, David Kahne on keyboards, and Wix Wickens on additional keyboards. Anderson stated most recordings were done between touring with McCartney, and that the songs are mostly about facing one's demons.
Reception
Reception was generally positive. Gary Glauber of PopMatters called it an impressive debut from a talented musician who took time to get things right. Reviewers noted the number of big-ticket guest stars, Anderson's guitar ability, experimental rock views, and new combinations of music. However, some found the material limited and not reverberating far. Meredith Williams remarked that Anderson provides common rock-pop appeal with catchy choruses and guitar solos, but not always effectively.
