Band history

The Analogs were formed in Szczecin during the spring of 1995 by three members of the Polish ska group Dr. Cycos: bassist Paweł "Piguła" Czekała, guitarist Marek "Oreł" Adamowicz, and drummer Ziemowit Pawluk. Tomasz "Iwan" Iwanow was the first candidate for vocalist but was quickly replaced by Dominik "Harcerz" Pyrzyna. Their debut album, Oi! Młodzież, was released in 1996 and originally sold only as a cassette tape; it later saw several CD and vinyl re-releases and became a cult classic in Polish punk rock. Shortly after the album's release, Piguła was imprisoned for criminal activity, serving two sentences totaling nearly five years. During his imprisonment, he continued to write the band's lyrics from his cell, and his experiences influenced some of his songwriting. While Piguła was incarcerated, he was replaced on bass first by Szymon Gebel and later by Artur Szmit. After his second release, Piguła became straight edge and dedicated himself to music and sports, later co-founding Projekt Pudło in 2018. Harcerz was temporarily replaced as vocalist by Dariusz "Smalec" Tkaczyk before returning in 2004. Over the late 1990s and early 2000s, the band saw numerous guitarists: Grzegorz "Heniek" Król, Artur Szmit, Dariusz "Kwadrat" Stefański, Błażej Halski, Jacek Tomczak, Piotr Półtorak, and Jakub Krawczyk. Paweł "Dmuchacz" Boguszewski eventually replaced Ziemowit Pawluk on drums.
