Paper Port (TV series)

Paper Port (known in Spanish as *Puerto Papel*) is an animated series that first aired in 2015, created by Zumbastico Studios. Its visual style, called Papermotion, combines stop-motion and 2D animation using characters and settings made from papercraft. The show was a co-production involving Televisión Nacional de Chile (Chile), Pakapaka (Argentina), Gloob (Brazil), and Señal Colombia, with additional production by Pipeline Studios in Canada and distribution by Millimages in France. It also airs on Discovery Kids in Latin America. A second season and a movie are currently in development.

The story follows 12-year-old Matilde, who spends her holidays at her grandfather’s home in the coastal town of Paper Port. When she discovers a magic coconut, she wakes up each day with a new, unpredictable power that she must manage alongside her friends Carlos, Ferni, and Boldo.

The main characters include Matilde, a curious girl; her best friend Carlos; her grandfather Barbacrespa; her pet fish Mortimer; and her other close friends Ferni and Boldo.

The voice cast varies by language. In Spanish, Carolina Ayala voices Matilde, Andrea Fröhlich plays Carlos, Orlando Noguera portrays Barbacrespa and Jefe Astudillo, Fabián Hernández is Mortimer, Paula Barros voices Ferni, Jonathan Ramírez plays Boldo, and Alejandro Toro is Tropecio Ferguson. In Portuguese, the cast includes Flávia Saddy as Matilde, Luciano Monteiro as Carlos, Júlio Chaves as Barbacrespa, Ricardo Schnetzer as Mortimer, Luiza Cezar as Ferni, Renan Freitas as Boldo, Mário Jorge de Andrade as Chefe Haroldo, Philippe Maia as Tropécio, and Arthur Salerno as Menino Pirulito. In French, Jehanne Thellier voices Mathilde, Louis Lecordier is Charlie, Gilles Serna plays Grand-père, Julien Masdoua voices Mortimer and Mr. Patatalo, Cécile Heredia is Felicia, Clément Ducros plays Bob, and Brigitte Lecordier serves as voice director. No official English dub cast has been established in reliable sources.
