WASP-121
A metal-rich, carbon-depleted star with a polar-orbiting hot Jupiter.
WASP-121, also known as CD−38 3220 and formally named Dilmun, is a magnitude 10.4 star about 858 light-years away in Puppis. Its mass and radius are similar to the Sun's, but it is metal-rich and depleted of carbon, with a carbon-to-oxygen molar ratio of 0.23. The star's rotational axis is strongly tilted, giving its hot Jupiter exoplanet an almost polar orbit.
