A faint dwarf spheroidal galaxy and satellite of the Milky Way.

Segue 2 is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy in the constellation Aries, discovered in 2009 through the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. It is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way, with an integrated luminosity about 800 times that of the Sun. Its stellar population consists mainly of old, metal-poor stars formed more than 12 billion years ago, and no star formation is currently occurring.
