Jack Buck
The longtime voice of the Cardinals.
John Francis "Jack" Buck (1924-2002) was an American sportscaster best known for calling St. Louis Cardinals games. His play-by-play work earned him recognition from the baseball, pro football and radio halls of fame, and he is a member of the Cardinals Hall of Fame. He was also a well-known football broadcaster, and his last baseball call for CBS television was Gene Larkin's game-winning single in Game 7 of the 1991 World Series. He was the father of sportscaster Joe Buck; a highway in St. Louis is named after him.
