Features

The 7 Perfect Game Challenge returned with many different rules. A 2K combo pack including MLB 2K13 and NBA 2K13 was available for $79.99; the NBA 2K13 cover featured only Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game had no gameplay or game mode additions compared to MLB 2K12 and lacked online leagues, likely because 2K had only four months to develop it due to the contract expiration.

Reception

MLB 2K13 received negative reviews, with critics noting the absence of new modes or gameplay enhancements made it a copy of MLB 2K12. IGN called it a "phoned-in, weak sauce embarrassment." Game Informer wrote that it was "one of the most embarrassing whiffs I’ve seen," adding that games frequently hinged on events that should not have occurred on the diamond.
