Monster Brawl

Monster Brawl is a 2011 independent Canadian horror comedy film directed by Jesse Thomas Cook. The movie stages a wrestling-style death match between eight classic movie monsters—Cyclops, Swamp Gut, Frankenstein's Monster, Lady Vampire, Werewolf, Mummy, Witch Bitch, and Zombie Man—inside an abandoned, cursed graveyard, presented in a pay-per-view format. Play-by-play announcer Buzz Chambers (Dave Foley) and color commentator Sasquatch Sid (Art Hindle), a former champ, call the action. The brawl splits into two classes: the Creature class (Cyclops, Werewolf, Witch Bitch, Swamp Gut) and the Undead class (Lady Vampire, Zombie Man, Mummy, Frankenstein). Each round begins with the combatants' origins.

In round one, Cyclops, who received a tournament invitation to prove himself and ultimately crush Hades for cursing him with a foreseeing eye, faces Witch Bitch, recruited by a small troll named Grub—a renowned monster trainer—to overcome her village's hatred through fear. Cyclops initially dominates, but Witch Bitch fights viciously, attempting a slam and pin. She commits an illegal move, prompting a referee call. Cyclops counters with a small mallet, bludgeoning her; she retaliates with a carving knife, accidentally slashing the referee's throat. She tries to blind Cyclops, but he uses his optic beam to melt her face, killing her. Enraged, Grub attacks Cyclops and is crushed by a tombstone. Cyclops wins round one.

Round two pits the Mummy, who escaped his crate at a museum, killed a loading dock worker, and sparked a national search, against Lady Vampire, hunted in her home by a gunman she bites and chases off. The Mummy's lack of blood and feeling neutralizes Lady Vampire's throws; he out-muscles her, blinds her, and knocks her out with a sleeper hold. While he retrieves a wooden stake, she revives and attacks. He briefly gains an advantage with a sun-powered amulet, burning half her face, but she throws him from the ring, separating him from the amulet. After hitting him with a tombstone, she punches through his chest, rips out his heart, and kills him. Lady Vampire wins the Undead lightweight round.

Round three features heavyweights Werewolf and Swamp Gut. Werewolf, who witnessed his wife's death by a werewolf, sought revenge but was bitten and cursed, though he killed the wolf. He is smarmy, sarcastic, and self-confident, aided by the full moon.
