Background

Order Up was co-written by Sean Charmatz and Paul Tibbitt, with Charmatz also directing. The short was produced in 2011–12 and received a picture lock in 2015, but remained unreleased for several years. It features Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants and Rodger Bumpass as Squidward Tentacles, with no spoken dialogue, only vocal sound effects. The plot follows SpongeBob amusing himself by overusing the Krusty Krab's order up bell, which drives Squidward to repeatedly destroy the bell in various ways. After Squidward dumps the remains into SpongeBob's head, SpongeBob discovers he can still produce the bell's sound by hitting his nose, causing Squidward to flee the restaurant screaming.
