Commercial Titan III

Commercial Titan III: four flights, retired after 1992.

Last updated

The Commercial Titan III (CT-3 or CT-III) was an American expendable launch system developed by Martin Marietta from the Titan 34D. Originally proposed for the US Air Force as a medium-lift vehicle, it was instead pursued commercially after the Air Force selected the Delta II. Four flights occurred from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station between 1990 and 1992, but higher costs relative to contemporaries like the Ariane 4 led to its retirement.
