Plot

Professor Klyaks tells a story to a boy named Petrek, who is recovering in a hospital. In this tale, the Great Elektronik leads a robot army that takes over the Island of Inventors, capturing its scientists. Elektronik orders his subordinate, Colonel Bombel, to wipe out the Fairy Tale Kingdom's ink supplies. Without ink, people cannot write down their imagination, making them easier for machines to control. King Apollinary, worried about the kingdom's storytelling contest, sends Professor Klyaks on a ship to find more ink. The crew includes Petrek, now a young sailor, and Boniface, who is secretly working for Elektronik to ruin the mission. After many adventures, Klyaks and his team defeat the robots, and Elektronik escapes. Klyaks uncovers Boniface's betrayal and punishes him by turning him back into a child for re-education. The professor then finds a hidden ink deposit right next to the king's palace. When the story ends, Petrek, still in his hospital bed, discovers he can stand and walk again.
