Extraordinary You

Extraordinary You (Korean: 어쩌다 발견한 하루) is a 2019 South Korean television series featuring Kim Hye-yoon, Rowoon, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Na-eun, Jung Gun-joo, Kim Young-dae, and Lee Tae-ri. It draws from the webtoon *July Found by Chance*, which debuted in January 2018 on Daum Webtoon. The show aired on MBC TV in the Wednesday–Thursday 21:00 (KST) slot from October 2 to November 21, 2019.

The story centers on high school student Eun Dan-oh, who attends a prestigious academy. She stumbles upon the truth that her world is a fantasy realm inside a comic book called *Secret*, where she and everyone else are characters controlled by an all-powerful Writer. Dan-oh is merely an extra, stuck with a grim setup: she is engaged to a longtime crush who despises her, and she has a heart condition that is expected to kill her soon. Unwilling to accept this, she decides to rewrite the plot and pursue her own love. Her determination grows when she meets a nameless extra she calls Number 13 (Rowoon), later naming him Haru. However, as events between Dan-oh and Haru begin to mirror the Writer’s earlier work *Neungsohwa*, changing her fate may come with a cost.

The main cast includes Kim Hye-yoon as Eun Dan-oh, a wealthy but ill-fated extra in *Secret* and the female lead of *Neungsohwa*; Rowoon as Number 13/Haru, a forgotten extra who becomes Dan-oh’s ally and was once a warrior in *Neungsohwa*; Lee Jae-wook as Baek Kyung, a rude A3 member engaged to Dan-oh who gradually becomes aware of the comic world; Lee Na-eun as Yeo Joo-da, the female protagonist of *Secret* who also senses the truth; Jung Gun-joo as Lee Do-hwa, a second male lead in *Secret* and A3 member who learns of his comic existence; Kim Young-dae as Oh Nam-joo, the male lead of *Secret* and A3 leader; and Lee Tae-ri as Jinmichae, a mysterious cafeteria cook who knows more about the comic world than most.

Supporting characters include Um Hyo-sup as Eun Moo-young, Dan-oh’s caring father; Choi Jin-ho as Baek Dae-sung, Kyung’s abusive father; and Yoon Jong-hoon as Dr. Lee Jo-hwa, a cardiothoracic surgeon and Do-hwa’s brother.
