Come Back Mister

Come Back Mister (Korean: 돌아와요 아저씨; RR: Dorawayo ajeossi) is a 2016 South Korean television series starring Rain, Oh Yeon-seo, Kim In-kwon, Kim Soo-ro, Lee Min-jung, Lee Hanee, Choi Won-young, and Yoon Park. The show adapts the 2001 Japanese novel *Mr. Tsubakiyama's Seven Days* by Jirō Asada. It ran for 16 episodes on SBS, airing Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 from 24 February to 14 April 2016.

The story follows two men who die at the same time. Kim Young-soo (Kim In-kwon) is a section chief in the women’s apparel department at Sunjin’s department store. His long work hours and constant overtime strain his marriage to Shin Da-hye (Lee Min-jung). While working late, he accidentally falls from a roof and dies. His company labels it a suicide to avoid blame for overworking him. Han Gi-tak (Kim Soo-ro) is a former gangster who runs a restaurant. He has long loved actress Song Yi-yeon (Lee Hanee), but she keeps her distance because of his past. Her ex-husband, Cha Jae-gook (Choi Won-young), creates a scandal to pressure her into giving up their child. Just as Gi-tak learns this, he dies in a car accident at the same moment as Young-soo.

Both men arrive in the afterlife but feel they must return: Young-soo to reconcile with his wife and prove his death wasn’t a suicide, and Gi-tak to protect Yi-yeon. They are granted two months and come back in new bodies: Young-soo becomes Lee Hae-joon (Rain), a handsome young man; Gi-tak becomes Han Hong-nan (Oh Yeon-seo), a beautiful young woman. They must follow three rules: they cannot reveal their true identities, revenge is forbidden, and they cannot engage in human affairs. Breaking any rule will erase all evidence that they ever existed.

The cast includes Kim In-kwon as the original Kim Young-soo, Kim Soo-ro as Han Gi-tak (with Kwak Dong-yeon playing a younger version), Lee Min-jung as Shin Da-hye, Lee Hanee as Song Yi-yeon (with Ji Ha-yoon as her younger self), Yoon Park as Jung Ji-hoon (Shin Da-hye’s ex-boyfriend and the biological father of Kim Han-na), Choi Won-young as Cha Jae-gook, and Lee Tae-hwan as Choi Seung-jae.
