Last updated

Modyssey, written in all caps, is a seven-member boy group from South Korea with a global-Chinese focus. They were created through Mnet's spin-off reality competition Planet C: Home Race.

The members are Yichen, Hengyu, Rowan, Lynnlynn, Li Zihao, Suren, and Fan Zheyi. The group is managed by Onecead, a label formed as a joint venture between CJ ENM and NCC Entertainment. NCC Entertainment itself is a collaboration between JYP China and Tencent Music, and is a subsidiary of JYP.

History

Modyssey came together through Mnet's spin-off survival show Planet C: Home Race, which ran from December 6 to December 27, 2025. The program brought back 18 contestants from Boys II Planet who were competing to join a new global-Chinese boy group. Only the top seven trainees made the cut, and the final lineup was revealed during the live finale on December 27, 2025.

Several members already had experience in the industry before the show. Li Zihao first debuted on September 21, 2018, as a member of JYP Entertainment's Chinese group Boy Story. That same year, Suren competed on MBC's Under Nineteen but was eliminated in the final episode. In 2019, Yichen appeared on iQiyi's Youth With You and was eliminated in the fifth episode, finishing between 67th and 96th place.

Hengyu debuted on May 24, 2022, under the stage name U as part of Keystone Entertainment's group Blank2y. In 2024, both Yichen and Lynnlynn took part in JTBC's Project 7; they were eliminated in the final episode, ranking 12th and 20th respectively. Also in 2024, Rowan joined iQiyi's Starlight Boys but was eliminated in the second episode, placing 65th. In 2025, all Modyssey members participated in Mnet's Boys II Planet.

Rowan was eliminated in the second episode at 88th place. Fan Zheyi, Suren, Lynnlynn, and Yichen were eliminated in the eighth episode, ranking 25th, 28th, 34th, and 42nd. Li Zihao and Hengyu were eliminated in the tenth episode, placing 19th and 20th.

On March 18, 2026, it was announced that Modyssey would officially debut on April 13 with the single album 1.Got Hooked: An Addictive Symphony. The title track "Hook" was produced by Stray Kids' production team 3Racha.

The group performed at Kansai Collection S/S 2026 on April 5, Inkigayo ON THE GO on April 26, KCON Japan 2026 in May, M Countdown X Mega Concert on May 30, the 35th Seoul Music Awards on June 20, the 2026 Seoul Music Park Festival on June 21, K-Mega Concert on June 26, and KCON LA 2026 on August 15. They are also scheduled to perform at NOL Festival on October 18. On September 1, it was announced that the group would make their first comeback in October with their second single album 2.Multitude: How We Bloom.
