Siya Kolisi
The first black Springbok captain, who lifted the Rugby World Cup in 2019 and again in 2023.
Siyamthanda "Siya" Kolisi (born 16 June 1991) is a South African professional rugby union player who currently serves as captain of the national team. He plays primarily as a flanker or loose forward. In 2018, Kolisi was named Springbok captain, making history as the first black player to hold the role. He then led South Africa to victory over England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup final, and in October 2023, he captained the team to a fourth World Cup title in Paris, becoming only the second captain ever to win back-to-back tournaments. Kolisi joined the Stormers squad in 2012, was appointed Stormers captain in 2017, and moved to the Sharks in 2021.
