Background

The Crazxy soundtrack initially had Vishal Bhardwaj on board for three original songs with Gulzar writing the lyrics. The Red Kettle reworked Bhardwaj's "Goli Maar Bheje Main" from Satya (1998), with Ila Arun, Paroma Dasgupta, and Siddharth Basrur singing and Vayu Shrivastav adding new lyrics. The band also remade "Abhimanyu" from Inquilaab (1984). Manan Bhardwaj, Khullar G, Yeah Proof, Harshavardhan Rameshwar, and Osho Jain also contributed to the album.

Reception

Dhaval Roy of The Times of India described the music as evocative, noting that the redux of Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s Abhimanyu from Inquilab retains Kishore Kumar’s original vocals and delivers an emotionally charged reimagining, while Goli Maar Bheje Mein and Mitron Maidaan exude raw edginess, Pul offers a soft melodic contrast, and O Papa tugs at the heartstrings. Rishabh Suri of Hindustan Times wrote that the music is mostly a rehash of classics, but the only one suiting the narrative is Abhimanyu in Kishore Kumar's voice.

Sana Farzeen of India Today stated that the makers earn additional brownie points for blending old classics like Kallu Mama with Kishore Kumar’s Abhimanyu Chakravyuh Mein Fas Gaya Hai to enhance the drama and mood. Ganesh Aaglave of Firstpost wrote that the combo of lyricist Gulzar and composer Vishal Bhardwaj contributed beautifully with compositions blending with the movie's theme. Rishil Jogani of Pinkvilla summarized that the background music is a heartbeat of its own, amplifying suspense, and songs like Abhimanyu, Goli Maar Bheje Mein, and Oh Papa suit the film's mood.

A critic at Bollywood Hungama wrote that Vishal Bhardwaj's music is okay, with Paapi standing out and the recreations of Abhimanyu Chakravyuh Mein and Goli Maar Bheje Mein being impressive, and Jesper Kyd's background score being top-class.
