Chapter 2 Remix

Chapter 2 Remix was a mini-season and series of virtual concerts held on the video game Fortnite Battle Royale throughout November 2024. It served as a return to Fortnite during early Chapter 2, featuring hip-hop headlined by Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and the late Juice Wrld.

Fortnite’s second major phase, Chapter 2, launched in late 2019. Its second season, themed around spies, became especially popular. Starting with Season 4 in 2020, Epic Games began integrating major collaborations, such as a full season centered on Marvel Comics characters. The game also hosted virtual concerts, with headliners including Marshmello in 2019, Travis Scott in 2020, and Ariana Grande in 2021. As Fortnite moved through later chapters, Chapter 4 ended with Season OG, a return to Chapter 1’s mid-2018 era that ran through November 2023. That season concluded with The Big Bang Event, which drew a record 11.6 million concurrent players. Epic Games then hinted at another OG return in 2024. In April 2024, a leaked roadmap confirmed that Chapter 2—specifically its first three seasons—would return in November.

The season began on November 1 with Remix: The Prelude, a live event and concert that closed out Chapter 5: Season 4. Held in Times Square, multiple screens showed a rift butterfly moving toward TSX Broadway, where Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg performed live while players watched a video feed from New York. A trailer then revealed gameplay and the full rapper lineup, including Eminem and Juice Wrld.

Chapter 2 Remix returned players to an alternate version of the Chapter 2: Season 2 map, with a similar loot pool and gameplay. Newer mechanics like tactical sprinting, sliding, and Zero Build mode remained. Points of interest were modified for each rapper—for example, The Doggpound replaced The Agency with a Snoop Dogg theme. Not all locations appeared at once: Eminem’s Spaghetti Grotto (inspired by “Rap God” and Mom’s Spaghetti) arrived after one week, and Ice Spice’s Ice Isle (based on “Oh Shhh...”) after two weeks. A final landmark for Juice Wrld, themed around “Lucid Dreams” and The Party Never Ends, appeared off the coast during the last ten days, with Juice Wrld visible overlooking the map. Unlike Season OG, which covered the latter half of Chapter 1, Remix focused on Season 2, adding some Season 3 elements toward the end.
