OlliOlli World
A 2D skateboarding game set in the hand-drawn world of Radlandia.
Roll7 and Private Division brought out OlliOlli World, a skateboarding game, in February 2022. It is the third title in the OlliOlli series, landing on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Critics gave it positive reviews. The game takes place in Radlandia, a hand-drawn world where players chain tricks for high scores, ride walls, grind rails, and explore branching paths — new elements like quarter pipes expand the franchise's 2D-platforming formula.

Development
British developer Roll7 focused on making the game more accessible to newcomers while retaining high-level play. The switch to 3D allowed for physics improvements, such as ramps and angles that were impossible with pixel art. A prototype letting players skate forwards and backwards inspired the 3D direction. Failed landings became less punishing, losing speed and breaking combos instead of failing the level. Creative director John Ribbins cited Jet Set Radio and comic books as inspiration for the hand-drawn art style. OlliOlli World was announced during Nintendo's April Indie World presentation and released on February 8, 2022, published by Private Division. Two expansions followed: VOID Riders in June 2022 and Finding the Flowzone in November 2022. After Take Two Interactive's sale of Private Division and Roll7's dissolution in 2024, publishing rights transferred to 2K.
Reception
OlliOlli World received generally favorable reviews on Metacritic. Polygon praised the game for allowing player creativity, noting how its wacky environments expand the fantasy of skateboarding. The Verge appreciated the surreal world compared to previous games' drab urban settings. The Guardian criticized the writing as having a how-do-you-do-fellow-kids feel but enjoyed the visuals and game feel, calling the stage backgrounds intricate and the world wonderfully warm and relaxing. Game Informer liked the stage design and multiple routes, saying players could immediately revisit levels to discover new experiences and combo opportunities.
