Lore & Background

After five days shut in his apartment with no way to contact anyone, Henry finds a hole in his bathroom wall that leads into other worlds. The people he meets there, including Cynthia Velasquez, Jasper Gein, Andrew DeSalvo and Richard Braintree, are each killed, and his radio confirms their deaths in the real world. Through diary pages left by the journalist Joseph Schreiber he learns that Walter is performing a ritual of twenty-one murders, and Joseph's ghost reveals that Henry is meant to be the last victim. With his neighbour Eileen Galvin he obtains Walter's umbilical cord and confronts him, and the game has four endings depending on Eileen's fate and the state of his apartment.

Reader's Guide

Unlike most of the series' player characters, Henry carries no flashlight or radio that warns of nearby monsters. His apartment is explored in first person and holds the only save point; in the first half it heals him, but in the second half hauntings inside it drain his health. For the second half Eileen accompanies him and helps in fights. It has been noted that Henry looks like the actor Peter Krause.
