Domínguez began his career at Quilmes before joining River Plate, winning the Clausura three consecutive times. He later played for Rubin Kazan, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Valencia, River Plate, Rayo Vallecano, Olympiacos, and returned to Rayo Vallecano. He retired on 28 June 2019.
