Synopsis
The Museum of Cookie Art has just opened on Sesame Street. Cookie Monster goes there with Chris and Elmo, and Prairie Dawn is working as a tour guide. The museum displays cookie-themed versions of famous paintings, including parodies of the Mona Lisa, The Potato Eaters, and The Scream. Cookie Monster wants to eat everything he sees, but Chris tells him he is only allowed to look.
A female security guard played by Rachel Dratch keeps catching him just before he does it. Then the cookie paintings start to disappear. The female guard and the Penguin security guards think Cookie Monster is the thief. Elmo decides to be a detective and finds a trail of cookie crumbs, butter, and chocolate chips.
He figures out that the real thief is an anthropomorphic chocolate chip cookie. The trio tells the guards, but the guards do not believe them and throw them out. Outside, they contact Abby Cadabby, who uses magic to turn them into a painting. She brings the painting to the museum, where the Cookie Thief steals it.
They change back to normal, and now the guards believe Cookie Monster is innocent. Everyone chases the thief. When caught, the Cookie Thief admits he stole the art because he loves cookie art. Cookie Monster explains that stealing means no one else can enjoy the artwork. He suggests the thief make his own cookie art to display in the museum, which the thief does.
