History and releases
Inje's first self-released single "Skrivenosemenica" from 2008 entered independent local charts, was remixed by Felony Flats, and appeared on the Balkan compilation "DS:Vol.1". Popboks critics named the band the second best debut act of 2008. Their first official CD, the maxi single "Lego", came out in 2009 on the Serbian label UZROK. That year, inje covered "Jugoslovenka" by Lepa Brena for the compilation "Dark Tribute to Lepa Brena"; Terapija described the cover as rough, dancefloor-oriented disco-electro EBM with sweet female vocals and processed guitar solos. The maxi-single "Danas" (UZROK, 2010) included a B-side and five remixes, reaching top 10 lists on RTV Studio B and Jelen Top 10, and placing 16th on B92's yearly chart and 14th on Popboks' for 2010. A remix by Izae appeared on the compilation KOMPOT curated by Croatian magazine Pot-lista. In 2011 inje released their only album "Protok". Critics noted it worked for both dance-floor and chill-out, and called it reserved, repetitive but melodic and emotional. Novi Magazin described it as a modern combination of electro-pop, rock and industrial with suggestive, almost innocent vocals; Indieoteque called it extremely high quality electro-pop; UrbanLook compared its sound to GusGus and Ladytron. The song "Kanalizacija" referenced lyrics from Lollobrigida's 2004 song "Party". In April 2012, the single "Kofein i CO2" was released via Bandcamp with a video. In 2013 inje collaborated with Croatian band Hemendex on their album "Solution to Reality", providing backing vocals, co-production and mixing. Croatian online magazine Kult included inje among the best indie bands in the region that year. In 2015 Creative Commons issued "Affiliates Mixtape #1" featuring inje's "Kofein i CO2" under a CC license for free download.
