Reader's Guide

The design evolved from previous community-run formats to a structured, multi-stage tournament featuring group stages and double-elimination brackets. Their victory granted them immediate entry into VCT First Stage: Masters Reykjavík, where they competed against established international teams. Unlike a boxing belt, there were no subsequent defenses; the title of 'Ascension Winner' was singular and specific to that year's qualification window. The event's legacy is defined by its role in transitioning Sentinels and other organizations from community powerhouses to official VCT participants. While Sentinels qualified through different means or prior status, this tournament solidified the pathway for teams like The Guard to join the elite tier.
