The Tanfoglio T95 is an evolved copy of the CZ-75 pistol design, incorporating manufacturing improvements. Tanfoglio introduced a firing pin block before CZ did, and its operation differs from modern CZs: the block is kept in an upwards position, blocking the firing pin until the trigger is pulled, which improves trigger operation by not adding weight to the pull. The Browning-style safety is improved to allow operation with the hammer cocked or down, unlike the CZ which only allows safety use when the hammer is cocked.
