Stan

The caddy who called the shots on and off the green.

Stan is Kramer's caddy in the seventh season of Seinfeld. He appears in "The Caddy," the 122nd episode of the series, which originally aired on January 25, 1996. Stan lets Kramer into a golf course during winter closure and trains him up as a contender to go pro. He also calls the shots for more than just golf, advising Kramer on legal strategy when Kramer injures his shoulder in a car crash. Stan's guidance ultimately leads Kramer to sabotage his own victory in court.

Lore & Background

Stan is introduced as Kramer's caddy, a man who takes charge of Kramer's golf game and life. He gains access to a golf course during its winter closure, training Kramer to become a professional contender. When Kramer crashes his car after being distracted by Sue Ellen Mischke's exposed bra, Stan approves of Kramer's decision to sue her, advising him to go back to lawyer Jackie Chiles. In court, Stan's strategy overrules Jackie's: he makes Sue Ellen wear the bra in court, but fails to foresee that it cannot fit over her clothes "like a glove," sabotaging Kramer's victory.
