Bearer: The Hero of Light (Protagonist)

Lore & Background

The Mana Sword was originally used by the hero Serin, the first Mana Knight and the father of the game's protagonist. Serin's ghost is the disembodied voice that guides the hero to pull the sword from the stone at Potos waterfall. The sword is initially rusty and powerless, having been depleted of its energy. To restore its power, the hero must travel to eight Mana Temples and unseal the Mana Seeds. The sword is the only weapon capable of defeating the Mana Beast, a giant dragon summoned to combat the Mana Fortress. At the game's conclusion, the hero uses the fully energized Mana Sword to slay the Mana Beast, causing it to explode and transform into snow.

Reader's Guide

The Mana Sword is obtained at the very beginning of the game, pulled from a stone at Potos waterfall. It is initially rusty and powerless. To restore its power, the player must visit the eight Mana Temples and unseal the Mana Seeds. The sword is the only weapon capable of defeating the Mana Beast in the final confrontation. The player must ensure the sword is fully energized before attempting the final battle, as without it, the hero cannot defeat the Mana Beast. The sword is used in real-time combat with a power bar mechanic, where swinging the weapon causes a gauge to empty and then quickly recharge, allowing the character to attack at full strength.
