Music video

The singing is performed in soft British Received Pronunciation-style accents, reminiscent of the Pet Shop Boys' song "West End Girls"; Samberg also compared the beat to the works of producer Timbaland. The video opens with Samberg in a night club about to hit on a woman played by Molly Sims. They go to her apartment and kiss in the hallway, but when she says she "wants some more," he ejaculates prematurely. He refuses to apologize, blaming her for rubbing his butt, then goes home to change.

Taccone appears in a grocery store, where Justin Timberlake makes a cameo as a janitor, and converses with a check-out lady played by Jamie-Lynn Sigler; he ejaculates when she asks "cash or credit?" He explains that the way she bagged cans got him "bothered and hot" and says he will pay by check. Samberg then exits a movie theater and ejaculates upon discovering a missed call from the woman. Taccone, driving a Mercedes-Benz, ejaculates when a song reminds him of the check-out lady.

Samberg and Taccone sing about how easily they ejaculate from stimuli like an alarm clock, a breeze, the twist ending of The Sixth Sense, or eating a grape. They lament that being near women requires wearing condoms under their underpants. Akiva Schaffer appears in the background as a disc jockey.

Background

The Lonely Island wrote "Jizz in My Pants" over the summer of 2008 while renting a house in Los Angeles, where they set up a makeshift recording space. They shot the music video in early September 2008, just before the 34th season of Saturday Night Live began. Initially, the group had no plans to broadcast the song on the show, but after getting encouraging feedback from other cast members and crew, they decided to put it on air. Clips from the video show up in the James Franco documentary Saturday Night, which came out in 2010 and was shot during the production week of December 1-6, 2008.

Reception

Several commentators enjoyed "Jizz in My Pants." Jennifer Maerz of SF Weekly called it "funny in a totally moronic way," describing it as "pure electro-trash" with "douchebag clothes, attitudes, and beats." Mickey O'Connor of TV Guide praised its "clever lyrics" that "brilliantly satirize the pompous chill of '90s synth rock." Christopher Rosen of The New York Observer found the video "awesomely catchy," in contrast to the rest of the SNL episode, which he felt was not very good.

However, Jerry Portwood of New York Press compared the video unfavorably to the work of "Weird Al" Yankovic, saying it did not satisfy him "beyond a few chuckles." Portwood preferred Yankovic's ability to parody current events and pop culture, while he wrote that Samberg sticks to "safe and, ultimately, ineffective parody." The track sold 76,000 downloads in its first two weeks. It has gone Gold in Australia with sales exceeding 35,000.

As of May 2022, the video has been watched over 263 million times, making it the Lonely Island's second-most popular video after "I Just Had Sex." The video was uploaded to The Lonely Island's official YouTube channel twice; the HD version has 176 million views, while the SD version has about 104 million views.
