To begin harvesting, identify black fluid nodes scattered across the landscape, often near water sources or specific biomes. Place a Pumpjack directly over the node and ensure it is connected to your electrical grid for operation. Lay down Fluid Pipes to channel the crude oil into your factory complex, utilizing Pumps if elevation changes require assistance. Once transported, route the liquid into a Fluid Heater set to Distillation mode.

This machine separates the crude mixture into Heavy Oil and Light Oil, unlocking advanced production chains. Heavy Oil is primarily converted into Rubber for tires and belts, while Light Oil yields Resin and Plastic for electronics. Store excess crude in Oil Tanks to buffer production spikes before refining. Finally, utilize these refined products in Chemical Plants or Assemblers to create Fuel for vehicles and construction.
