Production and composition

K recorded a romantic melody, "Vaayamoodi Summa Iru Da", with lyrics by Madhan Karky, which was Karky's 41st song as a lyricist. Karky noted that Mysskin's films usually have fast numbers, but this one included two melodies, both penned by him; he wrote "Vaayamoodi Summa Iru Da" on a flight. A kuthu song titled "Bar Anthem" was shot at a TASMAC bar, which K described as a kuthu song with soul. Mysskin wrote the lyrics for "Bar Anthem" after Kabilan was unavailable and Karky declined due to not consuming alcohol.

Release

A launch event at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai on 1 August saw Vijay hand over the audio to Puneeth Rajkumar. Mysskin, Jiiva, Pooja Hegde, Narain, Lingusamy, Venkat Prabhu, Gnanavel Raja, Jayam Raja, Madhan Karky, Ravi K Chandran, and R. B. Choudary were there. Stores sold CDs that same day.

Reception

The soundtrack received positive reviews, with critics praising K's composition and lyrics. Pavithra Srinivasan of Rediff gave the album 3 out of 5 stars, writing that K proves himself a competent musician who effectively renders emotions into music. Karthik Srinivasan of Milliblog criticized it as a tepid soundtrack. NDTV stated that the music drives the film with an adrenaline rush. News18 noted that the background score in the climax adds pep, and the bar anthem is impressive. The Times of India commented that K's background score is gripping and blends well with the film, and that "Vaaya Moodi Summa Iru Da" is a rage among youngsters.
