In Their Own Story
The 1999 Harvard–Yale Game was a showcase for Johnson. With Yale trailing, he hauled in 21 receptions for 244 yards, each catch pulling the Bulldogs closer. The final grab was the game-winning touchdown, a moment that cemented his place in Yale football history. Years later, in the NFL, Johnson's 2004 season with the 49ers was his finest: 82 catches for 825 yards and two touchdowns, leading the team in receiving. But injuries cost him the entire 2003 and 2005 seasons. In 2006, he shared the tight end role with rookie Vernon Davis. After a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints in 2007 and 2008, his NFL career ended.
