Facts from the source article.

College career

Moore started all 112 games across four seasons at the University of Texas at Austin. He finished as the Longhorns' all-time leader in career assists with 714 and remains second in assists per game at 6.38. His senior average of 8.34 assists per game is still a UT men's basketball record. Moore scored in double figures each season and earned first-team All-Southwest Conference honors as a senior. As a junior, he helped the 1977–78 team tie the school record for wins (26–5), share the SWC title, and win the 1978 National Invitation Tournament. The next season, Texas again shared the SWC championship, defeated three AP-ranked teams, reached the 1979 NCAA tournament as a No. 4 seed, and posted a 21–8 record, giving the program its first back-to-back 20-win seasons in 31 years.

NBA career

Moore was selected 43rd overall in the second round of the 1979 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, then the second-highest draft pick in UT history. Over 520 NBA games, he averaged 9.4 points, 7.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.96 steals per game with a 46.0 field goal percentage. He recorded 20 assists in three games, including once in the playoffs, making him one of seven players to achieve that in a postseason game. He also had two games with nine or more steals, a feat accomplished by only 50 players.

Coaching career

Moore began coaching as an assistant with the Austin Toros of the NBA D-League in the 2010–11 season. In December 2012 he became head coach of the Corpus Christi Clutch of the American Basketball League, but the team folded when 10 of 12 ABL teams did not survive the 2013 season. In fall 2013 he was named head coach of the South Texas Stingrays, an ABA expansion team. After the Stingrays were not brought back for 2014–15, majority owner Marlon Minifee formed the Central Texas Swarm, now the Am-Mex Swarm, where Moore currently serves as head coach.
