Davis is the son of Trinina Smith and Terence Davis Sr. He began playing basketball at age six. He became a star football player at Southaven High School, competing as a wide receiver, and also made the state's freestyle swimming finals in 2015. He earned twenty scholarship offers for football but opted to pursue basketball in college. At Ole Miss, he played sparingly as a freshman, then improved markedly as a sophomore, averaging 14.9 points and 5.3 rebounds. As a junior, he led the team in scoring with 13.8 points per game. As a senior, he posted 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, was named SEC player of the week, and earned All-SEC second team honors. After going undrafted in 2019, he signed with the Toronto Raptors, was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2020, and was later traded to the Sacramento Kings. He also played for the Rip City Remix, Wisconsin Herd, and returned to the Kings in 2025 before being waived and joining the Stockton Kings. He was released by the Leones de Ponce on April 23, 2026.
