Akiba's Trip is a video game series from Japan, created by the developer Acquire. The franchise includes five games and one anime adaptation, which was produced by Gonzo and broadcast from January 4 to March 29, 2017.
The first game, simply called *Akiba's Trip*, launched for the PlayStation Portable in Japan on May 19, 2011. An enhanced version, *Akiba's Trip Plus*, followed for the same system on June 14, 2012. A remake titled *Akiba's Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed* came out for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows on July 20, 2021, in the U.S. and Europe.
The second release, *Akiba's Trip for GREE*, was a free-to-play smartphone game exclusive to Japan, using the GREE platform. It focused on acquiring maid cafés through a touchscreen quick time event version of the original's combat. It launched on Android on January 20, 2012, and on iOS on June 29, 2012, but service ended on November 26, 2012.
*Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed* (originally *Akiba's Trip 2* in Japan) came out on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on November 7, 2013, and on PlayStation 4 on July 3, 2014. XSEED Games handled the North American release on PS3 and Vita on August 12, 2014, on PS4 on November 25, 2014, and on PC on May 26, 2015. NIS America published it in Europe.
*Akiba's Trip Festa!* was released for PC and Android on November 30, 2016.
*Akiba's Beat*, an action RPG in the series, was initially planned for fall 2016 on PS4 and PS Vita but was delayed to December 15, 2016, on PS4 and March 16, 2017, on PS Vita. It was directed by Tatsuya Matsubara, with the theme song "again" performed by ClariS. XSEED Games released it in North America on May 16, 2017, and PQube in Europe on May 19, 2017.
