Lore & Background
Blurred Vision's origins trace to 2010, when brothers Sepp and Sohl Osley released a cover of Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall Part 2' retitled 'Hey Ayatollah Leave Those Kids Alone'. A music video produced by filmmaker Babak Payami went viral on YouTube, and the remake was publicly endorsed by Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. This success led producer Terry Brown to connect the brothers with drummer Ben Riley, and the trio officially formed Blurred Vision.
Reader's Guide
Blurred Vision's significance lies in their fusion of rock music with political activism, most notably through their viral Pink Floyd cover that addressed human rights in Iran. The band's early endorsement by Roger Waters and their role as WhyHunger ambassadors underscored their commitment to social causes. Their debut album 'Organized Insanity' received critical praise, and their later work included a soundtrack for the film 'Manhattan Undying' and the album 'Redemption', released during the COVID-19 pandemic. The band's legacy also includes the annual Dear John concert series benefiting War Child, which brought together international musicians. Though the band dissolved in 2023, their music and activism, particularly the updated 2022 protest clip, reflect a continued engagement with global issues.
