Background
CRUISR began in 2012 as a solo project of lead singer Andy States, who wrote and recorded the band's first EP in his Philadelphia bedroom. States was fixated on the idea of what it means to craft a pop song. He contacted producer Jeremy Park after reading blog articles about how Park recorded Youth Lagoon, and Park helped produce the first EP. The "Cruiser EP" gained attention on blogs and led to the band's expansion.
