Where and when
The Rickshaw Run occurs three times a year, in January, April, and August, across India. Each event’s route varies, beginning where the previous one ended. While the first run was limited to India, the second edition extended into Nepal. Today, the start or finish points are in Rajasthan, Kerala, and Meghalaya. For the 2013 spring run, 74 teams departed from Kochi, with 70 completing the journey. Most followed the easier east coast path, but a few adventurous teams took a central route through Mysore, Nagpur, Varanasi, and Darjeeling, covering over 4,000 kilometers on India’s roughest roads.
