Watchmen: Music from the Motion Picture

Soundtrack album for the 2009 film Watchmen.

Watchmen: Music from the Motion Picture is the soundtrack album for the 2009 film Watchmen. It includes three Bob Dylan songs: 'Desolation Row', 'The Times They Are a-Changin'', and 'All Along the Watchtower'. The album also features period songs referenced in the original comic, such as Simon and Garfunkel's 'The Sounds of Silence', Nena's '99 Luftballons', and Nat King Cole's 'Unforgettable'. Many of these tracks were up-mixed to 5.1 surround using the Penteo process. The soundtrack notably uses Philip Glass's 'Prophecies' and 'Pruit Igoe' from the 1982 film Koyaanisqatsi, and Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' accompanies a key scene. My Chemical Romance covered Dylan's 'Desolation Row' for the closing credits.
