Go Records
Independent Melbourne label tied to The Go!! Show, 1964–1968.
Go!! Records was a small independent Melbourne-based recording label active from 1964 to 1968. Its releases were manufactured and distributed by Astor. The label was established by DYT Productions, which also produced the television teen pop program The Go!! Show, and was used for cross-promotion of artists appearing on that show. In March 1967 DYT was taken over by Rolf Schreuder. The label issued 54 singles, 7 EPs, and 6 albums. Bands and solo artists signed to the label included the Cherokees, the Deakins, MPD Ltd, Tony & the Shantels, the Chosen Few, the Clique, the Rondells, Terry Dean, Billy Adams, Yvonne Barrett, Bettie McQuade, the Field Twins, Joy Lemmon, and Laurie Angelo. The Strangers provided backing for solo singers on the show and released their own material on the label; their lead guitarist John Farrar later produced and wrote material for Olivia Newton-John.
