Career

Horsten made his single-seater debut in 2018 in the Australian Formula Ford Series, where he took three podiums and one fastest lap, finishing ninth in the championship. The following year he moved to British F4 with Arden, achieving ten podium finishes including his maiden victory in the second round at Donington Park. He also set a fastest lap at Knockhill, ending the season fifth in the championship, three positions ahead of teammate Tommy Foster and four ahead of Alex Connor. In 2020 he stepped up to the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with Lanan Racing, partnering Piers Prior and Josh Mason. He secured his first podium and a fastest lap in the second race at Oulton Park, and his best finish of second at Silverstone, taking tenth in the championship and beating both teammates. For 2021 he returned to British F3 with Hitech GP, alongside Reece Ushijima and Sebastian Alvarez. He began with two points finishes and a retirement while fighting for the lead with Ayrton Simmons at Brands Hatch. His first podium of the season came in race one at Silverstone, where he also set the fastest lap. At the fourth round he took two pole positions but finished fifth and fourth. He scored a second podium in the reversed-grid race at the sixth round, starting ninth and finishing third, later promoted to second after Branden Lee Oxley was disqualified. At Oulton Park he finished second in race two, but could not capitalise at the Donington Park finale, ending sixth in the standings.
