The Eagles of Deventer
Go Ahead Eagles are a Dutch professional football club from Deventer, Overijssel. They play in the Eredivisie, having gained promotion from the Eerste Divisie in 2020–21. Their home stadium since 1920 is De Adelaarshorst. The club has won the national championship four times (1917, 1922, 1930, 1933) and the KNVB Cup once (2025).

Lore & Background
Founded in 1902 as Be Quick by the Hollander brothers, the name changed to Go Ahead in 1905. The suffix 'Eagles' was added on 1 July 1971. The club's biggest win was 11–1 against Roda JC on 7 October 1962. They reached the KNVB Cup final in 1965, losing 1–0 to Feijenoord, but qualified for European football. In the 1971–72 Eredivisie, Go Ahead Eagles defeated Ajax 3–2 at De Adelaarshorst. The club won its first KNVB Cup on 21 April 2025.
