Dino Supercharge Mammoth
Ancient thunder in armored hide, the Mammoth shatters whatever stands between the Rangers and victory.
The Dino Supercharge Mammoth is a prehistoric mega-Zord introduced in Power Rangers Super Megaforce (2012–2013), the twentieth season of the American Power Rangers franchise. Modeled on a woolly mammoth, it is one of the Dino Supercharge line of Zords that the Megaforce Rangers deploy to battle the forces of Lord Zedd and the Putty Patrollers in their ongoing struggle to protect Angel Grove and beyond.
As a heavy, ground-pounding unit, the Mammoth fills the role of a siege and shock Zord within the team's arsenal. Its massive tusks, thick hide, and sheer bulk make it ideal for breaking through enemy formations, and it can be integrated into larger Megaforce Zord combinations to add raw power and stability to the combined form.

Lore & Background
In the world of Super Megaforce, the Megaforce Base houses a rotating roster of Zords that the Rangers can summon and pilot to meet the ever-shifting threats of Lord Zedd's army. The Dino Supercharge Mammoth was among the Zords made available to the team, representing the raw, untamed power of the prehistoric era. Where sleeker Zords rely on speed or aerial maneuverability, the Mammoth is a wall of muscle and bone, its long curved tusks and shaggy armored plating designed to overwhelm opponents through sheer force.
The Zord's design draws on the iconic imagery of the woolly mammoth—broad shoulders, a low center of gravity, and a powerful trunk that doubles as a grappling and battering weapon. In the field, the Mammoth can charge through enemy lines, uproot structures, and deliver crushing blows with its tusks, making it a favorite for breaking stalemates in ground combat. Its bulk also lends it a stabilizing presence when it locks into combination sequences with other Dino Supercharge Zords, anchoring the larger Megaforce Zord formations and adding extra firepower.
Like all Zords in the Super Megaforce era, the Mammoth benefits from the season's 'Supercharge' technology, which allows the Rangers to boost its systems for short bursts of enhanced strength and speed. This temporary power-up mirrors the franchise's long-running tradition of Zords receiving a surge of energy at critical moments, turning a formidable beast into an unstoppable force for just enough time to turn the tide of battle.
In Their Own Story
The sky over Angel Grove was the color of bruised iron when the Mammoth's war cry split the air. Cassie gripped the controls inside the cockpit, feeling the Zord's massive frame shudder as it planted its feet in the cracked asphalt of the parking lot. Around her, Putty Patrollers swarmed in their hundreds, their tiny blades glinting under the storm light.
She didn't bother with the targeting systems. She didn't need them. The Mammoth lowered its head, tusks scraping the ground in two long furrows, and charged. The impact was less a collision and more a geological event—concrete shattered, a row of parked cars folded like paper, and the front line of Putties was simply erased from the map. The Zord's trunk swept in a wide arc, catching a dozen more in its grip and hurling them into the air like dry leaves.
"That's enough," she muttered, and the Mammoth reared back, both tusks driving downward into the earth in a single thunderous strike that sent a shockwave rippling outward. The remaining Putties scattered. Cassie exhaled, the cockpit lights flickering back to steady green. The Mammoth stamped once, twice, then settled, its breathing slow and deep like a sleeping giant. She tapped the comms. "Base, target neutralized. Requesting extraction."
Static. Then a grin in the voice on the other end. "Copy that, Pink. Nice thunder."
Reader's Guide
Season & debut: The Dino Supercharge Mammoth first appears in Power Rangers Super Megaforce, the 2012–2013 season (the 20th entry in the American Power Rangers series). It is part of the Dino Supercharge Zord line introduced for that season.
Design inspiration: The Zord is clearly modeled on a woolly mammoth, featuring long curved tusks, a thick armored hide with shaggy plating, a powerful trunk, and a low, broad stance. Its aesthetic blends prehistoric beast with mechanical armor, fitting the franchise's tradition of animal-based Zord designs.
Pilot: The Mammoth can be piloted by the Megaforce Rangers. As with most Zords in the season, any Ranger can take the controls, though it is typically associated with ground-based combat roles.
Signature moves: The Mammoth's combat style emphasizes brute force—tusks for piercing and crushing, the trunk for grappling and sweeping, and a full-body charge that acts as a living battering ram. In Supercharge mode, its strikes carry amplified impact.
Combination history: The Mammoth serves as a combination component within the Megaforce Zord line. It can lock into larger combined forms alongside other Dino Supercharge Zords such as the Pterodactyl and Triceratops, contributing its tusks and trunk to the combined Zord's weapon loadout and adding structural stability to the formation.
Unique lore & limitations: The Mammoth's primary trade-off is speed. Its bulk makes it a dominant force in close-range and siege scenarios but less effective in fast-paced aerial or long-range engagements. It shines most when the battle is one of raw power and the Rangers need an unbreakable front line.
