History
The band formed in 2008 from a group of friends and began playing local pubs and clubs in Essex, building an online following through Facebook and YouTube. In summer 2010 they auditioned for Must Be the Music, receiving a strong crowd response. They advanced through the semi-finals by judges' decision and public phone votes, reaching the final and finishing among the top three. The competition was won by Emma's Imagination, leaving Missing Andy as runners-up alongside The Pictures. Reflecting later, Greaves said the television exposure had both positive and negative effects, noting that the show damaged them somewhat but also brought benefits. In October 2010 the band released a digital-only four-track EP titled The Greatest Show on Earth - Act I, and in October 2011 they issued their debut album Generation Silenced as a download-only release. Work on a follow-up began in 2012, and that year they released a single called Subway along with a live music video. In January 2013 an acoustic EP featuring stripped-down versions of four new songs—It's Over, Young Disciple, Mr. Policeman, and Slip Away—was released; it charted highly on the iTunes rock chart. The band announced their second album would be titled Guerrilla Invasion, with the first single Feel Like This arriving on 11 March 2013. An album launch party took place at London's Koko on 29 March 2013, and the album was released in two parts on 1 April 2013.
