History
After Atlantic Records released Chappell Roan in August 2020, she continued working with Dan Nigro and released singles independently in 2022. Nigro, who had gained prominence as co-writer and producer of Olivia Rodrigo's Sour, created Amusement Records as a venue for Roan. The label was independently funded, but Nigro and Roan sought a major label partner and chose Island Records. The name comes from a quote in Goodfellas. Nigro described expansion as about finding an artist he would invest 300 days of time with. In 2025, Amusement entered a partnership with Universal Music Group, giving UMG first rights to co-sign the label's clients and allowing Amusement's artists access to any UMG subsidiary. Devon Again became the second signed artist in May 2026 through a deal with Interscope Records. Again's primary producer Jon Buscema had joined Amusement in January 2026 via Sony Music Publishing.
