Pokémon the Series: XYZ is the nineteenth season of the Pokémon anime and the last part of the three-season Pokémon the Series: XY. In Japan, it is called Pocket Monsters: XY&Z. The story continues with Ash Ketchum journeying through the Kalos region alongside Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie. The season aired on TV Tokyo in Japan from late October 2015 to late October 2016, and on Cartoon Network in the United States from February 2016 to January 2017. The Japanese opening theme is "XY&Z" performed by Rica Matsumoto as Ash. Several ending themes were used in Japan, including "Puni-chan's Song" by Mariya Ise as Bonnie, "Team Rocket's Team Song" by the voice actors for Jessie, James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet, "DreamDream (Serena Ver.)" by Mayuki Makiguchi as Serena, "Brilliantly (Clemont ver.)" by Yuki Kaji as Clemont, "Pikachu's Song" by Ikue Ōtani, and "Meowth's Ballad" by Inuko Inuyama. The English opening is "Stand Tall" by Ben Dixon and The Sad Truth, with an instrumental version used as the ending theme. In the United States, Viz Media and Warner Home Video released the season on two three-disc sets, each containing 24 episodes. The first volume came out on August 29, 2017, and the second on February 6, 2018.
