Plot
Three circus landowners were killed long ago after they declined to sell their property, and they were buried on that same land. In the present day, Ramon, a cowardly man who depends on his mother, takes a job as a landscape artist to settle his family's debts. At work, he meets his boss Anna, a charming and dangerous woman, and falls deeply in love. While trying to impress her, Ramon accidentally digs up the graves of the three circus owners. Their spirits start haunting and possessing him, seeking revenge, which disrupts his romance with Anna. To prove his love, Ramon must stand up to Anna's father, Don Demetrio, a crime syndicate leader. Ramon's fear makes this difficult, especially with the three ghosts, led by Anastacio "Chemerut" Balbitero, Jr., causing trouble. As Ramon investigates the hauntings, he learns the ghosts want revenge against Don Demetrio. Ramon decides to cooperate with them. Struggling for love and justice, Ramon discovers what true courage means. He peacefully helps the three ghosts get justice while saving himself and Anna from the danger Don Demetrio represents.
Production
The film is Navarro's film comeback after Bulong in 2011. It was first announced in November 2013 and started shooting in December 2013. However, Navarro got involved in the mauling incident that happened on January 22, 2014, and filming was postponed. After recovering from serious injuries, Navarro resumed filming in February 2014, amid his controversial legal battle in relation to a mauling incident. Under director Joyce Bernal, Irene Villamor served as assistant director, screenwriter Antoinette Jadaone served as 2nd assistant director, Daisy Cayanan served as creative assistant, and RC Delos Reyes served as script continuity supervisor. Before Heussaff, there were plans of having two other leading ladies for Navarro. The first is Angel Locsin, but then it was changed to Ellen Adarna. However, the role ended up going to Heussaff, creating controversies. There is a claim that Vhong had been uncomfortable at the thought of working with Adarna, who admitted to being good friends with Cedric Lee, the main suspect of the mauling incident. Nevertheless, Navarro states that he does not know anything about changes in casting, and he is willing to work with her in the future.
