Background
From their 2004 debut Pez Raro on Descabellado Records, El Hombre Misterioso built a reputation for eclectic sounds. The 2008 release The Achorado Sound of El Hombre Misterioso on Germany’s Nasoni Records brought them international notice.
Their third album, Inside the Corporation (2009), blended funk rock with experimental touches, and its track “La Luna Houston Texas” gained a devoted following. The 2013 album Ausencia took a more introspective, tightly arranged direction. Their 2016 self-titled record was named one of Peru’s best albums that year by El Comercio, earning praise for its rhythmic innovation and lyrical depth.
