Early life and career
Evans began his career at age twelve, appearing in television commercials. He made his film debut as a toddler in Baby Geniuses in 1999 and played the young Grinch in How the Grinch Stole Christmas the same year. He also portrayed General Tom Thumb in the A&E movie P.T. Barnum and had guest roles on Ally McBeal, 7th Heaven, and Poltergeist: The Legacy. In 1999, he began playing Timmy on Passions, a doll brought to life by a witch. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2000 and won two Soap Opera Digest Awards in 2000 and 2001. After his death, the planned storyline for Timmy to become an angel was rewritten.
