Slavko Petrović

Managerial career

Petrović began his managerial work in Germany during the late 1990s, first coaching Alemannia Groß-Rohrheim and Amicitia Viernheim before becoming assistant manager at Karlsruher SC in 1997. The following season he moved to SV Darmstadt 98 as main manager. Until 2006 he managed Carl Zeiss Jena, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Waldhof Mannheim, and during the 2007–08 season he coached Zalaegerszegi in Hungary. In January 2011 he returned to Serbia to manage Borac Čačak, then at the start of the 2011–12 season became coach of Rad.

On 5 September 2014 he was appointed manager of Bosnian Premier League club Radnik Bijeljina, with whom he won the Bosnian cup in the 2015–16 season. Petrović replaced Miloš Kostić as Željezničar manager after a winless start to the 2016–17 season; he guided the club to the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, losing only two league games out of 25. Željezničar finished second overall after a disputed penalty decision in injury time allowed Zrinjski Mostar to overtake them for the title.

The club also reached the 2016–17 Bosnian Cup semifinals, and forward Ivan Lendrić finished as league top scorer with 19 goals. Despite support to remain, Petrović was sacked one day before the start of the next season. In September 2017 he became manager of Sloboda Tuzla, leading them to the 2017–18 Bosnian cup semifinal and a 10th-place league finish before leaving before the 2018–19 season.

• As a player, Petrović made no league appearances for Red Star Belgrade before moving to Germany.
