Simon Chen established ADATA Technology Co., Ltd. in May 2001, a Taiwanese company that designs but does not manufacture its own hardware.[1]
Key facts and history
The company was founded in May 2001 by Simon Chen.[1] XPG products include computer memory, SSDs, power supply units, PC chassis, cooling, monitors, laptops, and gaming peripherals.[2] Another 2021 review described the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro as a TLC-powered M.2 drive available in capacities from 256GB to 2TB.[3] Robotics and electric powertrain systems are among the new business areas ADATA is moving into.[4]
A 2021 PCMag UK review described the ADATA XPG Gammix S70 Blade as a solid-state drive using a four-lane PCIe 4.0 bus, with rated maximum sequential read speeds of 7,400MBps and write speeds of 6,800MBps.[5]
What the cited sources add
A 2008 press release from bit-tech.net announced the XPG sub-brand for overclocking products.[6] The PCMag UK review highlighted that the XPG Gammix S70 Blade uses an InnoGrit IG2536 controller and supports AES 256-bit encryption.[5] The same source noted the drive's thin aluminum heatsink allows it to fit in laptops or a PS5.[5] That review also compared its pricing to the XPG Gammix S50 Lite, finding them nearly identical.[3]
