Two years later, with Carlo Ancelotti replacing Antoine Kombouaré and Nasser Al-Khelaifi leading the Qatari ownership, Armand faced competition from new signings but chose to stay for the 2012–13 season hoping for the title. On 12 May 2013, PSG secured their third Ligue 1 championship, 19 years after their last win and nine years since Armand's arrival. After the match, he stated: 'I've been waiting for nine years for this title. I am honoured, and also proud.' In his final appearance against FC Lorient, he was given the captaincy armband as a farewell gesture, cementing his status as the club's longest-serving player.
